For the 40th anniversary of Arte Fiera, the ex-Bastardini Hospital, Andrea Benetti's Signum Crucis exhibition was inaugurated in Bologna on 29 January. The project on the theme of the Cross consists of twelve canvases, twelve candelabra and an installation in iron, wood and Murano crystal. The Signum Crucis exhibition was born after the first work entitled Homage to Karol Wojtyla, which the Bolognese artist created in 2009 as a tribute to Pope John Paul II. That painting, which depicts a white cross, was donated in 2012 to Pope Benedict XVI by the A.N.F.E. In the years following the donation of the painting, Benetti had promised to create an exhibition, which had as subject the Cross.
